Feeding baby goats

I did this layout for the weekly team challenge on UKS - scrap about an animal, use black, red, or gold, and include stitching. Used paper from MME 29th Street Market, red AC Thickers and a Scenic Route journalling sticker.
This is another layout for the album of our day at the activity farm last year.

Baby, it's cold outside

I did this for the weekly team challenge on UKS - scrap a winter picture using summer colours, use stars and stripes, use stitching, and use handmade embellishments. I used a sheet of Papermania paper from the Sweet Nothings pack for my base. The narrow strip of Basic Grey Euphoria was lying on my table and the colours were just right, so I cut the scalloped edge with my Fiskars Threading Water punch and added it to the top. The hearts and stars were hand drawn onto acetate with a Sharpie and then painted on the back with acrylic paints. I cut them out and mounted them with foam pads. Sewed on lots of BG buttons and did a few random cross stitches to fulfil the stitching part of the challenge. I finished it off by adding blobs of Black Diamond Stickles to the scalloped edge.

Photo is of my granddaughter, Sophie on a shopping trip to M&S a couple of weeks ago.

I did this for the Scrap Like You Mean It challenge on UKS - to use this sketch. I found it very difficult as I don't usuallly do empty space, but I compromised by using this gorgeous paper from Prim'a Whisper Collection. I decided to use just one photo and cut it into strips, instead of four skinny photos. I didn't want to cover up the flourishes with the photo so I cut round the pattern with my craft knife and popped the photo under. I think it gives the effect of looking through a window.

The view is from Le Jardin des Plantes in Avranches, taken last April. You can just see Mont St. Michel on the distant horizon, with the river snaking it's way down into the bay.

Let's play in the sun

This layout includes a couple of challenges. For our crop on Saturday we were given a 'shopping list' of items and papers to take from our own stash. We used a Jan Page Map to create the LH side (mine's slightly adapted to fit my photos) and then were set a challenge to create the RH side from the scraps on our own. I also wanted to do the SLYMI challenge on UKS so incorporated chipboard onto the RH side. I used Basic Grey Euphoria papers, brads and buttons, Technique Tuesday chipboard ring and Stickles. I cut the title uing felt with my Cuttlebug and Red Tag Sale letters.

Play

I did this for the weekly challenge on UKS. Use fruity colours (used lime and peach), use loops or circles (used circles behind flowers and circular letters), something old (old Scrapaholix kit), and theme of new beginnings (Wendy and Paul's new garden). The papers, borders and frame are from My Mind's Eye Tres Jolie collection, flowers by Prima and Papermania brads. The original layout was by CarolynUK. I have adapted it slightly to fit the challenge.

Photo is of my gorgeous granddaughter Sophie playing in her other grandparents' garden just after they moved into their new house in Chandler's Ford.

Monday 5 January 2009

I did this one for the Scrap Like You Mean It challenge on UKS to scrap using your favourite colours. This is Sophie on New Year's Eve. She was all ready for bed and looked so cute in her mauve jammies that I just had to take a photo. Glad I did now as it meant I could scrap my favourite mauves, pinks and purples. Used papers from the Basic Grey Eva and Sultry collections.
A rare picture of Sophie and Harry together after they had opened all their presents. Used papers by Love Elsie.

This was the kit I used at Nicki's all-day crop on Saturday. It's a photo of all of the family that were left standing at the end of Dad's 84th birthday party last week. Used papers by Little Yellow Bicycle.

I was taking down the Christmas cards and thought it was such a shame to throw them away each year, but I couldn't possibly keep them all, when I remembered seeing somebody had used theirs in a layout last year, so I thought I would give it a try. Even the titles were cut from a card, so a very cheap layout!

I intend to make 5 Xmas cards at the beginning of each month so that I'm ready for next December and not in a mad panic to get everything done. These are the five for January.

This blog is going to be for my crafting stuff, to keep it separate from my photography stuff. I will upload all of my cards and scrapbooking layouts here. I'm only starting with what I have done in 2009.
